How To

A jumping jack, also known as a star jump, is performed by jumping to a position with the legs spread wide and the hands going overhead, sometimes in a clap, and then returning to a position with the feet together and the arms at the sides.

  1. Stand upright with your legs together, arms at your sides.
  2. Bend your knees slightly, and jump into the air.
  3. As you jump, spread your legs. Stretch your arms out and over your head.
  4. As you fall, place your feet and hands back at starting position.
  5. Repeat.

Tips

Tip 1

Do not jump out too wide as that might cause your knees to collapse inward and risk an ankle sprain. Instead, jump just outside of hip distance apart.

After jumping your feet, the less you pause, the more cardiovascular and muscular benefits you’ll gain, so move it ;)
