How To
- Bring your left arm out to the side, at shoulder height, then bring it forward a few inches, palm facing down
- Bend your right knee and press into your right hand to twist your body open to the right
- Bring your right foot flat to the mat behind your left leg and let your right knee fall open
- Breathe deep into your abdomen
- You mind find that you need to rest your head on a cushion
- Carefully adjust your left arm to a position where it is comfortable
- Breathe into the stretch exhale carefully as your come back to center for the other side.
Tips
Work on spinal mobility
Include poses like Cat-Cow, Cobra, and Upward-Facing Dog in your practice to improve spinal mobility, which is essential for the twisting aspect of the Half Twisted Scorpion.
Breathe
Focus on steady, deep breaths throughout the pose to maintain relaxation and increase oxygen flow to your muscles.
